Cold Brewed Tea

Is it hot outside and you don’t want to drink a hot cup of tea? This cold Brewed Tea recipe is perfect for you. Brewing Tea cold is a gentle and slow process and it does take at least 12 hours but it creates a very satisfying sweeter and smoother tea. So say goodbye to bitterness and the harsh taste of tea. As it involves no hot water, this makes it a perfect drink for summer. Here is the simple and easiest recipe.

Things you’ll need

  • Tea (Any type Tea can be used, but oolong tea tastes great)
  • Water, it’d be best to use filtered water
  • Cold-brew
  • Tea maker, if you don't have one, you can use a jar or pitcher instead.
  • Stainer (mesh strainer is used to filter out tea leaves, no need of stainer if you are using a cold brew tea maker.)
  • Spoon
  • Cups
  • Ice(Optional)

Guide:

Tea: 1 sachet for one cup
Water: 1 cup
Temperature: Cold Water
Brewing time: Minimum of 12 Hours

Brewing Process

Step I:
Take water in a jar or pitcher and put tea in it. There are a few instructions about water,

  • Don't use hot water, rather you should use room temperature or cold water because no need to boil water when it comes to cold brew tea.
  • If you want the best taste you should go for the best water, so use filtered water.

Step II:
Now cover your jar or pitcher and place it in the refrigerator for a minimum of 12 hours. Upper limit of steeping for cold brew tea is 24 hours

Step III:
Time to use strainer. So simply strain out leaves into another container by using a strainer. An easy option is available too. You can simply use “Cold Brew Maker” because you don’t have to strain the tea into another jar, rather you can just take out the infuser.

Step IV:
Your tea is ready; you can simply pour tea into a cup. Adding ice to it is optional because tea is already chilled and ready to be served.
